Child Custody & Parenting Time Evaluation

Child Custody & Parenting Time Evaluator Services

Neutral, Child-Focused Assessments to Support Families Through Mediation

At Integrous Resolution Services, LLC, we offer Child Custody and Parenting Time Evaluator Services to help families and the courts make informed, child-centered decisions during times of transition. As part of our holistic mediation approach, our evaluation services provide a neutral, evidence-based assessment that supports both parents in reaching parenting agreements that truly reflect the best interests of their child.

Custody and parenting time evaluations can be especially helpful in high-conflict situations or when parents need additional clarity and support in resolving disagreements about parenting plans. By offering these services within a mediation setting, we aim to minimize the need for adversarial court involvement and promote a healthier co-parenting dynamic.

What Is a Custody and Parenting Time Evaluation?

A custody evaluation is a structured, impartial process in which a trained evaluator gathers and analyzes information about family relationships, parenting capacity, and the child’s unique needs. The goal is to provide objective insights and, when requested or required, formal recommendations that assist in developing fair and sustainable parenting arrangements.

Unlike litigation, our evaluation process is conducted in a supportive, non-adversarial environment—focused not on assigning blame, but on understanding the whole family system and what will best serve the child’s well-being.

What the Evaluation Involves

Every family is unique, and so is every evaluation. While the specifics may vary, our process typically includes:

  • Individual Parent Interviews
In-depth conversations with each parent or caregiver to understand their perspective, parenting style, concerns, and goals.

  • Parent-Child Observations
Direct observation of parent-child interactions, either in our office or home settings, to assess the relationship dynamic.

  • Child Interviews (as appropriate)
Age-appropriate, sensitive conversations to better understand the child’s needs, preferences, and experiences.

  • Collateral Contacts & Record Review
When relevant, we consult with teachers, counselors, healthcare providers, or others involved in the child’s life to gain a full picture.

  • Home Environment Assessments
Evaluating the living conditions and safety of each parent’s home as part of the overall parenting context.

  • Final Report (if requested by both parties or ordered by the court)
A summary of findings and professional recommendations regarding custody and parenting time, with the child’s best interests at the center.

Supporting Mediation with Objective Insight

In some cases, mediation alone may not resolve every parenting-related dispute. Our evaluation services can provide the clarity needed to move forward. Whether used as part of a full mediation process or requested as a stand-alone service, evaluations can reduce conflict, support informed decision-making, and help avoid prolonged litigation.

We work with both parties respectfully and neutrally, always prioritizing the needs and well-being of the children involved. Our aim is not only to support the resolution of current disputes but also to encourage long-term co-parenting success.
